چکیده

Background Acute pain is a common concern after breast surgery, and despite the conventional management of with different analgesics, many patients have poor responses. Paravertebral, epidural, pectoral serratus plane blocks are regional blocks, which used commonly to control surgeries. Each these techniques has its advantages disadvantages. Erector spinae block (ESPB) new approach can provide analgesia chest wall, by local anesthetic drugs be deposited in between erector muscle transverse process producing hemithoracic analgesia. This study was intended assess efficacy ESPB for postoperative surgeries. Results Fifty-four were enrolled this divided into two groups, 27 each group. Group B received general anesthesia group C intravenous showed statistically significant reduction total opioid consumption at 24 hours postoperatively, lower VAS score improved hemodynamic parameters first 8 postoperatively. Conclusions Ultrasound-guided performed level T5 found effective safe controlling surgery.

Pectoral nerve block (Pecs block) with sedation for breast conserving surgery without general anesthesia

Most regional anesthesia in breast surgeries is performed as postoperative pain management under general anesthesia, and not as the primary anesthesia. Regional anesthesia has very few cardiovascular or pulmonary side-effects, as compared with general anesthesia. Pectoral nerve block is a relatively new technique, with fewer complications than other regional anesthesia. We performed Pecs I and ...

Pectoral nerve block combined with general anesthesia for breast cancer surgery: a retrospective comparison

Background Acute postoperative pain is an integral risk factor in the development of chronic pain after breast cancer surgery (BCS). Pectoral nerve block (PECSB) has been recently reported as an analgesic method for BCS. Here, we retrospectively compared intraoperative opioid requirement, postoperative pain after BCS, and incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in patients who und...

A Comparative Evaluation of General Anesthesia versus Spinal Anesthesia Combined with Paravertebral Block for Renal Surgeries: A Randomized Prospective Study

Background: General anesthesia with endotracheal intubation has remained the most common technique used for open renal surgeries because of the abnormal body position and its ability to control the diaphragmatic movement during the surgery. Combined spinal and thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB) can be used as alternative technique for open renal surgery, where spinal anesthesia provides fast a...

Introduction and Purpouse: Postoperative shivering, which is unpleasant and annoying to the patient, occurs in patients with general anesthesia occurring in up to 65% of cases. Different mechanisms have been proposed for postoperative shivering. Chills after anesthesia can cause cardiovascular complications, bleeding and infections. this study, effects of dexamethasone, pethidine and ketamine h...
